Updates on class scheduling, deadlines, holidays, and other news for current College Credit Plus students will be provided below.
Greetings from the OSU Academy! I hope you’ve enjoyed the break and are enjoying the crazy Ohio spring weather.
- COURSE DROPS: March 23 is the deadline to drop a class and have a “W” on your transcript. You cannot drop a class after this date without extenuating circumstances. If you drop a course with a “W,” your high school has the right to ask you to repay the cost of the course.
Other common questions:
Greetings from the OSU Academy – I hope you are enjoying the sunshine! How is the spring semester going? I have heard from a few of you about midterms and other assignments. Are you used to the pace of college classes yet?
Greetings! Hard to believe we’re at the end of January!
I hope all is well with your OSU courses. We’re past the deadline to make changes to your spring semester schedule. There’s still one more drop date – if you absolutely need to drop a class, you can do so before March 23. Keep in mind that your high school may ask you to repay them for the course if you drop. Of course – they can ask you to repay if you fail, and a failure will be much harder on your transcript.
Happy New Year! I hope you are staying warm as you get ready for the start of the spring semester. Are you ready for classes? Monday is the first day of the semester. This is the first in a series of emails you will receive from me this semester as a student enrolled in the OSU Academy.
Here’s what you can do before classes start:
Spring semester scheduling will be here before you know it. To start planning, visit buckeyelink and look up courses. Come up with a good list, as many will start to fill as upperclassmen go through the registration process. As a reminder, Academy students will meet with an advisor to schedule for next semester.
I went online to the class search page and found these classes. They are listed by the general education area that they fulfill.
You have received an email from the registrar informing you of a hold on your record for the Financial Responsibility Statement. You are thinking – “Hey wait, didn’t I already do that?” Yes, you did – but now you will need to do it again.
Important Update – The deadline to drop without penalty is TUESDAY, September 5, 2017! If you drop a class after this time, your high school has the right to ask you to repay them for the cost of the course.
If you are thinking about dropping a class, here are a few hints:
You made it through the first week of the semester – hope you are ready for week 2.
Class schedule changes:
Happy May! I hope you enjoyed the spring semester and are looking forward to your summer! So what happens now for the Academy Program?
Grades: your professors have until the end of the day on May 8 to report grades to the registrar’s office. The grades will be posted on your student center on Buckeyelink. The registrar’s office will be sending grades to your school by the end of next week.
The semester is flying by – we’re already in the 8th week. Good luck with midterms, papers and projects. If you are having difficulty with a class, be sure to talk to your instructor (in office hours or by e-mail) and use the resources of the university.
Graduating seniors – how are your plans coming for next year? I’m interested to learn where you plan to go and what you plan to study. Send me an e-mail when you’ve finalized your plans.
